Auley vs SetAIComply

Two self-serve EU AI Act tools, built for genuinely different buyers. Here's an honest look at where they differ.

SetAIComply and Auley cover similar ground: a free risk check, a way to document your AI systems, and a policy or documentation generator. If you're comparing the two, the real differences are in who each one is built for, not which is better.

Pricing

Auley charges one flat fee based on how many staff you have: £49 a month for 1 to 25 staff, £99 for 26 to 100, £149 for 101 to 250. One number, decided once. SetAIComply prices by how many AI systems and user seats you have, starting at €39 a month and rising with usage, which can be harder to estimate upfront if you're not yet sure how many separate AI tools your business runs. Worth checking both providers' current pricing directly, since either can change.

Who it's written for

This is the biggest practical difference. SetAIComply's own site talks about MLflow integrations, GitHub, ISO 42001, and NIST frameworks, language built for someone with a technical or compliance background. Auley is written in plain English for a small business owner with no compliance team, with dyslexia-friendly formatting throughout, short sentences, clear structure, nothing you need a glossary for.

Scope

SetAIComply is the broader tool. It maps to ISO 42001 and NIST's AI risk framework as well as the EU AI Act, and includes shadow AI detection and vendor due diligence features aimed at larger or more technical teams. Auley is deliberately narrower: one law, one clear answer, four tools, AI inventory, risk classifier, policy generator, training tracker, and nothing else to learn. If you need multi-framework coverage, SetAIComply's breadth is a genuine advantage. If you just need to know where you stand under the EU AI Act and get the paperwork sorted, Auley is the more direct route.

AI literacy training

Both cover Article 4's staff AI literacy requirement. SetAIComply offers a course with a certificate, in 24 languages. Auley's training tracker is built to be simpler and faster to get through, matched to what a small business actually needs rather than a formal course structure.
